Central Railroad of New Jersey Railroad Tower Interior; 1927.   photograph of the interior of the Railroad Car Retarder Tower No. 3 at the Allentown, PA, yards. Seems to be operated by a see-through ghost who is sitting on the chair. Great double exposure image, but very strange. Size 8.25x10.5". There are 2 file holes in the left border, otherwise quite nice condition.

This item consists of two historical photographs of the Haselton YMCA in Struthers, Ohio, taken in July 1919, and a complete description of the building and its construction details and building costs. The photos, each about 3.75x5", are of the front and the back views. Includes over 60 handwritten pages of information on the construction, sizes, costs, as well as detailed costs of a contract to expand the facility in 1912. It is described as a 3-story brick building with concrete foundation and slate roof, including bowling alleys, auditorium, etc. Amazing amount of construction detail. Cabinet Photo, Florida Garden Party, About 1900. Appears to be a garden party or a park on a Sunday afternoon. From a collection all from the late 1890s early 1900s. People milling about, and watching others play horseshoes. Note the guy in the striped jacket on the right, he looks like a "dandy". Image size 4.5x6.5", backing 6x7.75". The mark across the photo starting in the lower left corner is in the image (and probably the negative), not damage to the photo. Image is in very nice condition, but the backing is soiled. 2 Cyanotype Photos, Pennsylvania Railroad, 1914.    Two Cyanotype (blue-tinted) photographs from 1914. Both are scenes along the new York Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad. One shows a steam engine, in the winter. To the left, workers are repairing storm-damaged electrical lines. The second shows downed electrical lines. Size of each image about 7.5x9.5", sheet is about 10x13". Extremely nice condition, file holes in left border. On the back of the second there is some blue blotches, I guess from the Cyanotype processing. Does not affect the image side.
Cyanotype photography was invented in 1842 and was most popular from the 1890s until the 1920s. The process is noted for the wonderful blue images and for the fact that the images do not fade as readily as most other forms of photography at the time of their popularity. Cyanotype Photo, NC&SL Railroad, Nashville Tennessee, 1914.   This item is an old Cyanotype (blue-tinted) photograph from about 1914. This one is an interior scene in an Interlocking Tower at the Nashville Terminal of the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railroad. Size of image about 6.75x8.5", sheet is about 10x12.5". Extremely nice condition, but the areas around the windows and to the left of the Interlocking Machine are a bit overexposed.
